Mirrored outdoor shower at The Creek House surrounded by rainforest

Snows Creek Retreat

The Creek House

Immersed in the rainforest, steps from the creek.

Airbnb Guest Favourite award — The Creek HouseBooking.com Traveller Review Award of Excellence

Immersed in the ancient Gondwana Rainforest (World Heritage listed), The Creek House is a sanctuary where you share the grounds with nature’s locals.

Wake up to wallabies grazing near the deck, keep a keen eye out for our shy echidnas or the elusive platypus in the creek below, and end the day with the iconic laughter of kookaburras at sunset.

During breeding season, you might even hear the deep, guttural calls of koalas echoing through the canopy—a wild, authentic reminder that you are truly in nature.

The house itself invites you to disconnect. The highlight is our much-loved outdoor shower—perched right over the creek. With a protective roof and adjustable aluminium shutters, it offers a magical bathing experience guests describe as ‘unforgettable.’

Follow the rhythm of the day with two private decks: catch the warm morning sun and fire up the BBQ on the side deck, or retreat to the cool, shaded creek-front veranda to read and watch the water flow.

Powered by the sun with battery storage and mains grid backup, and serviced by pure rainwater, your stay offers sustainable luxury with a lighter footprint. We are a world away, yet just 25 minutes from the famous Doma Café in Federal.

We warmly welcome well-behaved dogs. A $20 nightly pet fee applies — see Guest Services for details.

Pet Policy, Safety & Fees
  • Pet Fee: A pet fee of $20 per night applies (payable via Guest Services ). Want it refunded? Check out our social media offer in your welcome guide!
  • Furniture & Cleanliness: Pets are not permitted on beds or sofas unless you use your own pet blankets. Ensure your dog is clean and dry before entering. (An extra cleaning fee of $50/hour applies for pet hair, muddy prints, or damage to furniture).
  • Never Leave Unattended: Strange environments can cause separation anxiety. Pets must not be left alone at the property (inside or outside) while you go out.
  • Wildlife Protection: We share this space with wallabies, koalas, and echidnas. Dogs must be under effective control at all times when outside.
  • Rural Hazards: Please ensure your pet’s tick prevention is up to date (paralysis ticks and leeches are common). Supervise your dog at night due to toxic Cane Toads, and be mindful of the secure rat bait stations placed around the property.

House rules & important info

Check-In, Check-Out & Extensions
  • Check-In: After 4:00 PM (Self check-in via key safe)
  • Check-Out: Before 11:00 AM
  • Extensions: We love when guests want to stay longer! If you wish to extend, please contact us at least 12 hours before your scheduled check-out so we can manage our cleaning team.
  • Departure Checklist: Before leaving, please start the dishwasher, clean the BBQ if used, ensure all doors are closed, and leave the keys on the dining table or in the yellow letterbox when you empty the rubbish.
Quiet Hours & Gatherings
  • To preserve the tranquil nature of the rainforest and respect our neighbors, quiet hours are strictly from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM .
  • We strictly do not allow unauthorized parties, events, or unregistered overnight guests.
  • Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited indoors.
  • Property Boundaries: Our estate is home to two separate retreats. To ensure absolute privacy for everyone, we kindly ask that you enjoy your designated house and its immediate gardens, and strictly refrain from approaching the other dwelling.
Location, Driving & Wi-Fi Calling
  • The Drive: The final stretch of your journey is on a classic unsealed country road. It is suitable for any standard 2WD vehicle, but please take it slow to enjoy the scenery and watch for wildlife.
  • Transportation: A private car is essential. There is no public transport, and ride-share apps (like Uber) are unreliable and prohibitively expensive here.
  • Connectivity: There is no mobile phone reception in our valley! Please load your driving directions before leaving the main highway. Once you arrive, our fast Wi-Fi will allow your phone’s “Wi-Fi Calling” feature to work seamlessly.
Property Upkeep & On-Site Personnel
  • Property Upkeep: To ensure the sanctuary is always at its best, various personnel may be present on the grounds. You may occasionally see our gardener, pool technician, septic tank servicing crew, or our cleaners accessing the laundry area. Please note that lawn mowing is weather-dependent and cannot be strictly scheduled around stays.
  • The Caravan: Please note there is a caravan located towards the front of the property near the garage that may house a permanent resident. It is situated well away from the main houses to ensure your retreat remains completely private and uninterrupted.
  • Security Cameras: For your safety and the security of the property, exterior cameras actively monitor the outdoor grounds. Cameras are located at the garage (facing both directions of the driveway), facing the letterbox and rubbish bins, monitoring the driveways as cars approach each house, covering the pathway between the houses, and pointed toward the creek at the Creek House.
  • Keys: Please leave your keys on the dining table at checkout or hidden in the yellow letterbox when you put the rubbish in the bin on your way out. (A lock-out fee of $80 applies if we need to let you in, and lost keys incur a replacement fee of up to $300).
